2015 - It's A New Year & New Year Resolution!
9:19 PMFirst and foremost, I'd like to say HAPPY NEW YEAR! Despite my general disinterest in holidays (if you work in retail you could probably understand why lol) I still have an affinity for the New Year. It's a time to let go of the old and welcome in the new. Even though it happens every year on the same day and each time it's generally the same, each experience is different and usually better. We all have our ups and downs in life. However, as humans we cannot let our struggles chain us down from moving forward and being happy.
Take this time to wipe of your slate and to grow as a stronger individual. Learn to love yourself and those around you. Make acts of kindness a daily way of living and not a task. Strive to better yourself by being healthier and learning new things and discovering new things to add to your plethora of interests. By doing this, not only do you become more interesting and versatile as an individual but you can forge new friendships and connections that will last your lifetime!
Looking back at 2014, I definitely had my own ups and downs. I messed up a friendship and I gained several new ones. It happens. I took on the task of teaching myself Korean. I really love the culture, food, music, tv and lifestyle so I figured learning the language would be really awesome.
As far as a New Year Resolution goes, people generally create this above and beyond ridiculous expectations to meet. I think it's important to set a bar for yourself to challenge yourself but I think it's a little silly to do something that you know you're going to give up on. If you set something up that you can easily obtain but will require some dedication and work/discipline, then I think that's the best way to go. Don't do something extremely easy like: I promise not to eat a donut tomorrow. But don't do something like: I want to be able to lift a car by March 2015! Be reasonable and be relevant to your life and goals. I think the point of a NYR is to motivate yourself to benefit yourself in regards to your interests, your goals, your health, etc....
So, without further hesitation, here are my resolutions for 2015.
I went to college for graphic/web design and despite having a full time job (which I love) I want to utilize my degree more on the side. If something major happens out of it, then that would be cool but for now I just want to get more involved with freelance work and getting my name out there and getting more experience to evolve my creativity.
Some of you may know that I have a youtube channel. It's a casual channel that I use to upload video gameplay, random art videos etc... and I talked in the past of doing a legit show in terms of music on a channel. I did end up creating a separate channel for it but got out of touch and I'm thinking about deleting it and throwing the videos on my main channel and just making my channel a misc type thing. I really enjoyed the show I created and I think that it could be somewhat successful if I truly put the effort into it.
I hope that everyone has a great 2015. Let's make this year a great one!
