Motivation!

9:23 PM

Like any other creator, I have spurts of motivation. Right now I've been extremely motivated to design and create artwork and crafts. I have tons of ideas swirling within my brain. I feel like when I have this motivation, it carries over into my work life.

During the holidays it is generally stressful because there is just SO much to do in and out of work. Now that the holidays are wrapping up and being packed away for next year, it's about that time to sort of slow down and get back into the regular grind. However, despite this change in activity, my general schedule stays the same.

Because I am so active in my "art" world, I feel like it is carrying over into my work life. I'm motivated to create things and explore new ideas and because of this I'm also motivated to be the best I can be at my job and to find faster methods to doing tasks at my job so that I can get more done in less time. Sometimes work or even art projects can weigh you down and that makes you lose interest and motivation in those things. In times of slow progression, I find ways to get determined to keep pushing forward to get things completed.

Sometimes I feel like the best thing to do is to put whatever your working on down. Walk away from it and focus on something else or change your schedule up a little bit etc.... and come back at another time to look at something from another perspective. I feel like if you give yourself a break and a "recharge" time, it gives you the stamina to take on a task head on and get it down with a fresh energy flow rather than dragging through it and possibly rushing or not being wholeheartedly passionate about whatever it may be.

Even though my art and my job are completely unrelated, they feed off of each other. When I'm productive at work, I feel productive at home. When I do productive things at home, it inspires me to be productive at work.
