Holiday Procrastination

Holidays

First off I am going to say that this is going to be somewhat of a rant.

Okay, it's definitely going to be a rant. As you can see the topic is about holidays.
Every year we have the holidays. We can all agree that Easter, 4th of July, Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's Day, Valentine's day, etc... happen on the same day every single year. With this in mind, please tell me why people proceed to procrastinate on purchasing items that they need for said holiday coming up.

For example, Thanksgiving is right around the corner. Everyone is going to be buying turkey, stuffing cubes, cranberry sauce, potatoes, sweet potatoes, vegetables, and the works for your standard Thanksgiving turkey dinner. I'm well aware that many families celebrate holidays differently but mine celebrates it the traditional way with a turkey.

I guarantee you that most people will wait til the week of thanksgiving or even the day before thanksgiving to buy all of their shit AND they will bitch about it being out of stock in the stores and blame it on the stores they go to. You have all year to plan this shit out. And you tell yourself that you won't procrastinate again next year but you do it anyways. You learn new ideas, tips and tricks to prepare for the holiday and make it extra flavorful yet you still proceed to act like a neanderthal with logic.

So here's what you can do for the holidays to make yourself less of an asshole.

1. The month of that holiday, write down what events you will be attending or hosting.
2. Write down what sort of meals, supplies, gifts you will need for said event.
3. Write down a grocery list of all of the things you will need to buy for the holiday.
4. Figure out which stores are going to offer you the best items for the best price. They will most likely be on sale and you should probably also have coupons.
5. Buy these items 2 weeks in advance. That way, if you DO end up forgetting something or thinking of something last minute, you have those 2 other weeks before the day to figure that out and buy what you need.

Don't be the asshole who comes to the grocery store at 11:45pm 15 minutes before the store closes to buy your damn turkey for the next morning. Fuck you.

As for holidays like Christmas where you're going to be purchasing presents for people, you have all fucking year to buy them shit. Quit waiting til the last week or day before to get them their gifts. Obviously if you've already had their gifts ready and you see something extra on the spur of the moment that's fine, whatever. But don't try and buy things for 25+ people with only 2 days to do it. You're going to get frustrated, you're going to frustrate the people around you that have to deal with you and you're probably going to be disappointed and pissed off when you go to a store to get something for someone and they're out of stock because everyone else already fucking bought it.

You have all year, every year to prepare for these things. Man up and take action at being prepared and ready for these things. It's not the store's fault that the items you want to buy are gone because your lazy ass waited too  long to beat out the other customers, the smart ones.

Some more tips:
1. Don't buy your bows and wrapping paper etc... during the season. Buy them when they go on a major discount and use them for the following year. So after Christmas, buy your supplies for next to nothing that way you're well stocked up for next year & repeat.
2. Look for great gift ideas throughout the year and when those things go on sale, buy them ahead of time and store them somewhere securely in your house.
3. A great way to store items is to get a bin that slides under your bed. Just store every gift under there and when it is someone's birthday, you can pop it out and sort through the gifts and pick out what they would like and you're good to go.

Please restore faith in humanity and be the 1%. Ty.
